Sofat Infertility is the Renowned and First Laser Hatching Test Tube Baby Center in Punjab, India

Test tube baby is a much older non medical term that is used to be used when talking about IVF pregnancies. There are many users who are in confusion about the difference between test tube baby and IVF. Both are the same thing and most common effective type of assisted reproductive technology (ART) which is used to help women to achieve pregnancy. Now a day, everybody calls it In vitro fertilization (IVF). There are thousands of IVF babies that have been born since the first in 1978.

Process of Test Tube Baby :

Basically, it involves fertilization of an egg by sperm outside the body, in vitro ("in a laboratory dish") or “in glass” and then implanted it in a woman's uterus. This whole process requires several steps that may take place over a period of many days. One cycle of IVF takes between four weeks and six weeks to complete. These steps involve:
  • During IVF, a high-tech procedure called laparoscopy is used by a physician, who collects ova from the woman at the time of her ovulation.
  • In the next step the man's sperms and the woman's egg are mixed together in a laboratory dish, where fertilization occurs. The resulting fertilized eggs are then left to incubate under controlled conditions and develop into embryos.
  • Embryos are ready to be placed into the uterus in 4 to 5 days time with blastocyst transfer, when they have reached the 6 to 8-cell stage. The resultant embryo is then transferred into the woman’s womb, for normal development in the uterus, or frozen for later implantation. Eggs can also now be frozen and fertilized later.
  • The basic steps in an IVF treatment cycle are super ovulation, which involves stimulating the development of more than one egg in a cycle, egg harvest, fertilization, embryo culture, and embryo transfer.

The procedure for conceiving a child is different from the natural process. But the baby does not look any different and, in fact, there is no different characteristic from other babies. You cannot tell by looking at a person.

For whom IVF is recommended :

Those couples who have been struggling with infertility for many years are advisable to go for IVF. They face following fertility problems:

Female factor infertility :
  • Blockage or damage of fallopian tubes which prevent the sperms from getting to your egg and also prevent the fertilized egg from getting to your uterus.
  • Ovulation Disorders
  • Early depletion of ovarian follicles before age 40
  • The most frequent cause is sexually transmitted infection
  • Poor egg quality
  • Endometriosis condition, in which tissue grows outside the uterus, usually in the abdomen or pelvis.
  • Hormone imbalances and unpredictable ovulation patterns
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease
  • Previous sterilization surgery

Male factor infertility :
  • Blockages in sperm-carrying tubes
  • Abnormal sperm production
  • Genetic disorders
  • Hormonal problems
  • Poor nutrition, obesity, or use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs
  • Removal of one or both testicles due to cancer
  • Environmental toxins and radiation
  • Men older than age 40 may be less fertile than younger men

Success Rate of IVF or Test Tube Baby Treatment :
  1. Depends on your particular fertility problem,
  2. Age
These both factors play a very vital role in calculating the success rate. The healthier your eggs are and the younger you are, the higher your chances of success. If you have had a baby before, you have an increased chance of success.

You can also improve your chances of success by avoiding bad habits during IVF cycles. Ask your physician. She/he will suggest you about how you can increase the chances of success.

The cost of test tube baby in India is very affordable as compared to other countries. The IVF cost is close to around 1 Lakh. The cost also depends upon the cycles of IVF, which varies from patient to patient in terms of complications, age, and egg quality issues.

Frustrated-Stressful-Painful Failed IVF Cycles

In-Vitro cycle process is strenuous for lady as it raises loads of questions in her mind about the success of IVF. A couple waits desperately for a child to come in their life and welcome that magical moment with all the heart.

When a lady is hit with injections during the IVF process, she is continuously motivated by her infertility doctor that these all pains are for good!  A woman gets so much frustrated on the failure of her past failed cycles. Recurrent failure makes a lady so depressed that she loses all the hope to have a child in her entire life. Gradually she begins to believe that she will not have her own children and she won’t be able to see her alter ego in her full life.

Due to changed and worsened lifestyle and diet patterns infertility problems are on the rise in India, every 1 out of 8 couples used to suffer from this problem in past few decades as opposed to now in which ratio have risen from every 1 out of 6 couples.

Some Couples try to avoid pregnancy in their initial years of marriage not realizing that they may be infertile in one way or the other. Early diagnosis will make the problem to have more chances to get solved but as the age crosses 35, chances of infertility raise naturally and thus the solutions are mostly scientific.

Indian Medical Council suggests that if you and your partner have any trouble conceiving like pain during intercourse or unwillingness to have sex with partner or any other possible reason like injury or some disease, then one should not sit back and wait for worst consequences, instead should immediately head towards the infertility specialist.

There is hefty discussion and diagnose before going for IVF cycles. A couple goes through a series of issues and small level treatments and medications before going for this strict decision.

Some Symptoms that tell about the infertility amongst women are as follows:

1. Menstrual discomfort
2. Backaches
3. Severe feeling of pain during intercourse
4. Diarrhea
5. Constipation
6. Endometriosis:  in this the pelvic area gets affected and persistent scarring may happen and thus make a woman infertile.
7. Any Infection like Gonorrhea and Chlamydia: this is a sexually transmitted infection and can happen due to sexual contact via vagina, anal or oral too. These infections need to be caught and treated well in time as infections also lead to miscarriages. Such infections are easily treatable with antibiotics
8. Polycystic Ovarian syndrome (PCOS): is also a very severe condition related to hormonal issues. This disease also hinders the pregnancy and its symptoms are very appear-full in the form of facial hair and other pimply problems.

Some Suggestions to improve the health before conceiving a baby, so that you are physically fit enough to have a baby:

1. Exercise regularly and appropriately: Strenuous exercises are a definite point to lead to infertility. Heavy work in any form physically or mentally leads to infertility issues. A person who stands continuously for long hours say 8-12 hours is more liable to get infertile. In the same way, continuously sitting for 6-8 hours also leads to infertility problems.

Irregular periods are a sign that ovulation problems have begin to occur. Excess of everything is bad! Excess of work either mentally or physically leads to exertion and regular or daily basis exertion leads to exhaustion and thus stress in lives which ultimately puts bad impact on body in the form of hormonal imbalances. And hormonal imbalances turn to ovulation troubles at last!

2. Maintain health with healthy weight: both obese and underweight ladies are more prone to be infertile than those who maintain a healthy weight. Healthy weight is not only a symbol of being looking good but it also shows that a person is healthy enough for doing normal routine activities. Normal weight is must for a lady to be fertile.

If a thin lady gains some weight then it’s more likely that her ovulation cycle will get stable and ovulation is fine means pregnancy rate chances will boost.

For overweight lady, to reduce weight means that her hormonal levels will come into peace and thus striking a balance in ovulation and menstrual cycle. Overweight ladies are more prone to the overproduction of hormones than those of thin ladies.
